Education

Serving more than 121,000 students from Pre-school to 12th Grade, San Diego Unified is the second largest school district in California. The population is extremely diverse with over 15 different ethnic groups and 60+ languages and dialects. With over 226 educational facilities, there are 117 traditional elementary schools, nine K-8 schools, 24 middle schools, 22 high schools, 49 charter schools, 13 alternative schools and five additional program sites.

The school district identifies as one of the top large urban school districts in the Univted states with top scores on the state and national tests, leadership in technology, curriculum, neighborhood and specialty schools, career-technical education and food services.
