Education

Public schools located in Carlsbad neighborhoods have a great reputation for excellence in education. Many of the schools have been ranked as Distinguished Schools at both the state and federal levels. The schools and staff have earned many awards and recognition, as well. Carlsbad schools are mostly supported by the Carlsbad Unified School District where they have modernized several schools including four elementary schools, two middle schools, Carlsbad High School, and they built a new school called Sage Creek High School.

In some distinct areas, such as La Costa Oaks, La Costa Ridge, Rancho La Costa and Rancho Carrillo, they are supported by three other schools districts. San Marcos Unified School District supports the neighborhoods of Rancho Carrillo, northern parts of Rancho La Costa, and La Costa Ridge. Encinitas Union and San Dieguito Union School Districts support the southern neighborhoods of Rancho Carrillo and La Costa Oaks.
